The Showboat drive-in has Shrek 3 & Surf's Up playing. I think I am going to take the kids there tonight. I haven't been to this one, but we went to the one in Porter before it closed.

Edited to add: There are two screens. One screen is playing Shrek 3 & Fantastic Four - Rise of Silver Surfer. The other screen is playing Surf's Up & Gracie.

Thanks for reminding me of that place! My kids really want to see Surf's Up (has anyone read reviews yet? Is it any good?) and a drive-in might be kinda neat.

I haven't seen it, but my youngest saw it with a friend and loved it. The parents said it was good too.
Edited to add: The drive-in is great because you can bring your own snacks, stretch out and it is cheaper per person than the theater. I think it is $6 per person and that is for TWO movies.

So how does this work? The movies are shown back to back? I don't think my kids could sit for that, even at a drive-in. How hard is it to leave after one movie?

Is is very easy to leave after the first movie- there is a short intermission in between. My kids love the drive in and so do we! We have a minivan, remove one set of the seats and make a "bed" in the back. The kids usually fall alsleep by the second movie or shortly after. It is $5 for ages 13 and up, $4 for children 3 -12, and free for 2 and under.
We went the first weekend they had both screens open, and the first showing of Shrek 3 & it was packed! Waited in line for at least an hour, and barely got a spot to park. But still worth it!
