So what is the virus of the week that is going around? Youngest didn't feel well after school and now just threw up. Please tell me it's a fluke.

Hey Wilson. Sorry to hear that! My youngest had pretty bad case of the runs this past Thursday and threw up on Saturday. He was fine on Sunday. My oldest has been fine so far. Hope it isn't too bad.

He's thrown up again, so I'm definitely keeping him home tomorrow. I was really hoping if was just a fluke, but it sounds more like there is something going around. I'm glad to hear your little one got over it relatively quickly.

Darn Wilson. I was just about to ask if you wanted to do lunch tomorrow. I was hesitating though because I was wondering how much fun it would be with me not being to talk above a whisper. (More fun for YOU maybe, lol)

Sorry to hear you have a sick kiddo. Hopefully you won't catch it too.

Well.....we had a sick kid during the night too. But, seems like an ear infection. Our youngest son was crying during the night of pain in his ear. I'm sure it is because he was congested over the weekend. He just never seemed to get worse like I did. But, EVERY time he is congested, it turns into an ear infection.

The second the dr's office opens, I will be calling to get an appointment. That, or Minor Oaks. I will NEVER use Dr. D's again. I still need to get all of A's records transfered from Dr. D's to McKillip's office. As far as she can tell from her records, he hasn't had an infection in a long time. :(

We just got over the tummy thing. And there is good news and bad news. The bad news is it is VERY contagious and spreads like wildfire. It comes on fast and hits hard. The good news is it lasts less than 24 hours.

When we had I think I had about a day and half to two days before the next one caught it. If you catch the symptoms quick enough and can get the phenagrin(sp) in to the kiddo's asap then they sleep through most of it vs throwing up their toenails.

Hope you all feel better soon.

Andrea

I hope this is a different virus! He threw up twice yesterday - about 4 & 6 o'clock. I've been feeling "pukey" from about 7pm yesterday. I kept ds2 home today (and we're both in tears over it because tonight is Open House and he's very upset to miss this) and he says his throat hurts. I don't know if it's the beginning of Strep (also going around) or if it's the stomach acid from throwing up. His throat, if anything, might look a little red. He's bouncing off the walls and has said he's "fine" ever since realizing we're going to miss Open House. Sigh...

No puking here, just painful ears. We have an appt at 2:15.

There sure is a lot going around!

Wilson, we had an event at school tonight, too. The kids were all well enough to attend. Me, too, but I sure didn't feel like going. The dog from "Bracelet of Bordeaux" was supposed to be there, but they had to cancel. I could only handle one story room (it was a Pizza and Read night) before the kids got a little too out of hand for my comfort zone. I wanted to hear some guy (not sure who he was) read "Jackaloupe" but the kids ended up hearing a Dr. Seuss book by some lady whose name I'd heard before (but can't remember now) and a story about a lost library book by Dr. Stockton. They enjoyed it, but were getting "antsy" before all was said and done. I never did get to hear "Jackaloupe!" I also had a neighbor child with me, besides my own, so that added a little extra responsibility.

But, they all spent some (or all) of their allowance at the Book Fair, so that will save me a trip to take care of that money that seems to burn holes in their pockets.

Have you found out yet if it was strep? Mine tested negative for strep, but had some other sort of strange, bacterial thing show up in the blood test. She's so much better now! It sure is wonderful to see her back to her normal self and feeling good! I wish I bounced back from illnesses as quickly.

Let us know how he's doing! It's doubly miserable when they are sick AND missing something they really want to do!

He was fine the rest of the day yesterday (aside from a 2-hour nap), so I sent him to school today. Me, not so much. :(
