For all you government school kiddies out there, don't worry about learning English. Nah. It's only a part of the naturalization process. But to hell with that. We are granting amnesty these days!
So if you want to eat lunch in the cafeteria, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has been kind enough to translate the meal application into whatever language you speak! Well, with the exception of Italian and German. We're not really sure why. Maybe we just stopped letting them in. Or we don't care enough about their votes.
From the June 22nd USDA report:
"Please be advised that we have finalized the process of translating the Free and Reduced Price School Meals Application package into 25 different languages . . . Arabic, Cambodian, Chinese (Mandarin), Farsi, French, Greek, Haitian, Hindi, Hmong, Japanese, Korean, Kurdish, Laotian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Samoan, Serbo-Croatian, Somali, Spanish, Sudanese, Tagalog, Thai, Urdu, and Vietnamese."
Isn't that nice of government ... I mean, the taxpayers? I wonder how much money they paid people to translate? And how much paper are they going to waste by printing thousands of applications in Kurdish or Haitian?
It doesn't matter. What's next? Requiring lunch ladies to speak the languages so the kiddies in line don't feel bad? Oh wait, we are still talking about government employees ... never mind!
