I'm glad I checked that out! I'm surprised they advertise that Diego toy all the time if it's got lead paint. I just saw the commercial yesterday and thought how much my little Diego Fan would like it.
BTW...when I saw the toy that shoots rubberbands, I thought to myself that there's NO WAY I'd ever subject our dog (or myself!) to the line of fire from the rubber-band-shooting hands of little boys!!!

I saw the list too - nothing on it was something I would buy anyway. The only major disappointment this year was the Aquadots! DD REALLY wanted them, but I'm glad someone found out how bad they were before we got them! I'm not worried about her ingesting the dots (she's 6-1/2), but we have another baby on the way and I have a nephew who is still a baby, so it wouldn't be a good toy to have around.

My son really wanted the Aquadots as well. I just read that the factory cut costs on the coating the dots were supposed to receive and used a cheaper chemical which is what metabolizes into HGB when ingested.

I was reading the post-Thanksgiving ads that my mom brought over on Thursday and at least one of the advertisers had those Aquadots in the ad!

Toys 'R Us had them in today's ad. I couldn't believe it. Surely these are not the recalled batch.

Really? If they do get new and better ones in, that would be great. DD really wants them but I have already told her she won't be able to get them.

Apparently they are ads for the recalled toys - I guess they ran out of time to pull the ad. Target and TRU both ran the ads, but say the Aquadots are absolutely not available...

These circulars were printed and in distribution before the recall,” Kathleen Waugh, a spokeswoman for Toys “R” Us Inc., headquartered in Wayne, N.J, said Sunday. “Absolutely, Aqua Dots are not available or for sale.”

Good to know! I guess it's for the best! I have way overspent on them already :)

With the internet I rarely even look at anything on paper anymore. That stuff just isn't current or instant enough for me. I often wonder who uses phone books anymore; sure wish they'd stop littering my porch with them!

I think they should still print telephone books, but IMO you should have to request one to get it! So much waste... I'll bet they could cut down on printing them by half or so... but then they wouldn't be able to charge as much for advertising ;).

*raises hand* I still use phone books. Kind of old-fashioned that way. But I do get tired of having 3 phone books for our area and 4 more Houston.

There are many places that still haven't entered the digital age, and I would hate to miss something because they don't have a web page.
