I like stories with happy endings.....
Louisiana teenager grabs
gun to foil carjacking
Associated Press, by Staff
Original Article
Metairie, La. - A 17-year-old boy foiled an attempted carjacking, wrestling a gun from a would-be robber and shooting him after the man grabbed his mother, authorities said. Carl Chestnut, wounded in the head and torso, will face armed robbery charges once he is released from East Jefferson General Hospital /snip/ When he leaned inside, trying to yank the mother out of the car, the 17-year-old grabbed the gun
***************************************
Well done kid, you've got brains and brawn. And as for the sheriff's advice, I believe since 9/11 Americans would rather fight it out than leave their lives in the hands of the criminals.
The 17 year old son deserves praise. He reacted from the gut to protect his mother and he turned the tables on the perpetrator. What the police don't get is that: yes, you may save your own life, but the perp is left out there to victimize others. Bravo to the young MAN.
Maybe there's hope for Louisiana. Just don't look for it in their elected officials.
