I want to say someone from this board or the other board works with the Beagle rescue group. We have found a lost Beagle but cant stay with us. Our friends are watching her tonight. I was wondering I should turn it in to the SPCA or turn it over to the rescue group.....If yall know Nav. and Family have my number.
Thanks

I used to foster for beagle rescue. Probably the best bet is to take the dog to Animal Control on 242 Monday morning. They will hold her till Friday, giving an owner time to come in and claim her. If she is not claimed and beagle rescue has a place for her, they will pull her from the shelter. If not....:(

If not....
I thought the shelter at 242 was a no kill facility.

Animal Control hasn't the $$ or space to house animals long term. The best they can get is 3 days, not counting the day they came in, weekends, or holidays. Not sure about the Humane Society, which also rents part of the building. There is a smokestack there.....But if the dog goes there, it will be listed on Petfinder.co with a photo, and hopefully whoever is missing him will see the photo and pay the fine to spring him. Beagles are notorious for getting out and following their noses till they are lost. Hence the reason Beagle Rescue can't save them all.

Hmmm, we just adopted Jake a few months ago and he had been in that shelter for 8 mos.
Two families returned him because of his digging out of the yard. We kept him on a 10 day trial period and he never dug out. I swear the day we signed the papers, he started digging out..LOL We now have stakes every 6" all the way around our 700' fence...LOL
He is a SWEET dog though and has done very well with our chocolate lab, Hershey.
