I can't believe how quickly this long summer is flying by! Anyway, today's July 1st... what are your plans for the 4th?? Dh is actually taking off the 4th and Thursday & Friday!!!! I am SO excited! We're going to spend as much time as possible at the Red, Hot & Blue Festival, starting with the parade. Here are some links:

I was just about to post asking what everyone was doing for the 4th. GMTA. I think we are going to just go to our friends' house and swim/grill. Then, fireworks that evening. We will park over by Office Depot to watch the fireworks.

Dh has surgery the next day, so we're not sure how late he can eat/drink that day.

I've invited my parents and my SIL & nephews up for the day. I hope they can all make it. We'll hit the parade, then come back here to swim & grill, then try to catch the fireworks in the evening. We spent a lot of time in the yard today trying to clean things up and fix pathways. It's amazing the destruction the dogs have done in such a short period of time! We need to be on top of it more.

Don't even get me started about what my dogs have done to my yard. Grrrrr. I love them, but I sure wish they were more like cats and didn't tear things up. THey have chewed up three very sturdy grill covers in just three weeks.

We've gone to the symphony on the 3rd the last two years and have loved it. Getting there early and sitting under the pavilion is the best. I just can't make the parade. I can't stand to get up early enough to go somewhere for a parade. Daughter and SIL are having a big crowd to their house for grilling and swimming on the 4th. We'll go there and then to the fireworks.

I forgot about the symphony... we'll see if we can't make it! Lucky you can opt out of the parade because you don't have to take the littles!

My mom called this morning (bright and early when I was snoozing to the rain ) and said that they can all make it. Not in time for the parade, but they'll be up most of the day... I'm really happy they're coming up here for once!

We don't really have plans yet. The weather will dictate some things! DH and the kids are wanting to see Transformers and we want to try and make the fireworks. What time do they start?

The parade seemed to be really great this year. I think the weather had a lot to do with it ;). There was a lot of participation and creativity. But I've never been to the parade and not had to deal with mosquitos, sweat, humidity, etc. It was nice!
