a personalized beer mug?

We were invited to a surprise party for a friend of DH's this coming Saturday. DH suggested getting him a beer mug with his name on it because he thought he would get a kick out of it. Whatever :rolleyes:, I just need to get one before Saturday and I don't want to spend a fortune!

Any ideas?

I forgot about the place in the mall - Things Remembered. I assume they are still there. I assume the personalization doesn't take too long.

We haven't had things engraved there in a long time, but I do remember it being quick... at the most maybe walking around the mall for an hour.

Cool. That's where I will be heading in the next few days then. I checked online and all of their beer mugs are on sale - YAY! With engraving I might be able to keep it under $20.

Sounds perfect. And to try to make you feel better about it, dh was in a wedding about 10 years ago and was given a flask with his name on it. He *still* uses it. Guys do get a kick out of stuff like that (shrug). LOL!

Flasks are the "thing" to give apparently. Ashley gave a friend of hers a pink one for a wedding gift and at another wedding last year, all of the attendants were given flasks. LOL

I actually bought my first one last weekend in Galveston. (Girls' Annual Weekend) :)

Cool - it doesn't sound so tacky then! This guy is a beer drinker for sure, so a beer mug it will be. DH got a flask from a wedding he was in and he thinks it's cool, so I guess this will be an ok gift!

I am sorry i didnt see this thread. There is a place in old town spring who makes personal beer mugs out of glass. I bought some for my groomsmen. I put there name and college logo's on them. You can bring the guy any drawing or name or saying and he will do it. BTW prices are 1/2 price of Things remembered. BTW if you go in there they have a beer mug that says Josh with LSU on it. that was the sample one he gave me to see if i liked them.

Thanks for that MSU! I was planning on taking care of this tomorrow, so I may have to look into that! I will ask DH if this friend has a college degree and where it's from. I'm thinking he has a degree, so if I can get one with his college name or something on it, that would be cool too.
