There has been confirmed reports of at least 2 attempted abductions of women walking from the parking lot to a store in 2 different locations of TW. These are happening in broad daylight and they haven't been successful, yet. One was in Panther Creek, the other location is being verified.

This is scary. Please be on the lookout. And make sure that you're not being followed home, either.

Wow, I haven't heard this. Both were just attempted, right? Were the women hurt?

Not that I'm aware of. I know the one in Panther Creek pushed the alarm button on her keychain and the men took off.

I am still not sure the one in PC is the truth, I have only heard about it here and no one I know that works in the PC heard about it. You say confirmed but who confirmed it?

It was confirmed through WCA, the MC Sheriff's office, and eventually TW Watch. Anyone else is welcome to call and verify 281-210-3800.

Well... I called MC Sheriff's about it just the other day and they couldn't cofirm it for me. I am always watchful in any parking lot, but I do know there are a lot of stories that float around out here.

The WCA I don't trust, they are not very useful. The Woodlands Watch is also not very useful either, seems like only a select few get information from them.

I guess you'll just have to assume it is a rumor, then.

The PC incident happened June 26, about 1pm, and the person was walking from the parking lot to Sears. Two black males approached her and told her to get into their car. The police were called and a witness tried to help describe the car. I understand that the WCA manager John Raybon confirmed the incident with MCSO, possibly on June 27.

Also, I realise that you are only trying to make sure that this is factual. I do understand that. But I don't post things like this on a whim and I am usually quick to verify stuff on Snopes.com and I don't forward emails or respond to them. I felt these incidents had been adequately verified. I trust the sources. I also felt that the incidents were too important to not post here and try and get the word out to as many people as possible. Crime in TW happens far too often and people don't even know about it. The information is not getting out there. That has to change.

Last post until somebody else responds :)...

I even have neighbors that do not believe the crime that is going on in our neighborhood because nothing has happened to them (yet) and they haven't read about it in the Pillager.

Look, I don't know why you are getting all up in arms. I didn't post anything on a whim. I just know that there are things that go around as rumor and I have not be able to verify that this is true. It's horrible to scare people about things if it's not true. As I said I did talk to MSCO a couple days ago, after the supposed incident and couldn't get any verificaiton.

As for verifying on Snopes, this is local stuff, it wouldn't be there, the only way I could verify is MSCO which they can not confirm. So this is not a whim.

Don't attack me because I want the truth, but can not find it. If it happend and was reported then why is it that MSCO couldn't verify it when I called?

I have lived here for nearly 20 years and I do know that things happen that are not in the paper. I don't even read the Villiager, and I have been able to verify other incidents when I have heard about them. But this one I can not verify it having happend.

Wow... nothing I posted was meant as an attack and I'm not "up in arms" about anything. Try to re-read what I wrote without taking it personally. I was trying to clarify where I was coming from by posting this in the first place.

My husband is a Paramedic and works along with MCSD. He said it has been verified as well. We just all need to be careful. Something could happen to any of us at any time. Just beware of your surroundings! :)

IT would be nice if MSCO would actually verify this. I have called again the other day and still can't get verification. They do tell me there was a purse snatching in the 10000 blk of Woodlands Parkway, but that's gotta be the Walmart area because PC is 4700 blk of Woodlands Parkway. The purse snatching was white males though.

A Montgomery County Sheriff confirmed it for us. Now whether or not they tell you over the phone, I guess I can't say. I have never called their number to confirm crimes, as we have many friends that work there.

It's going on all over TW. Friend of mine was robbed at Dillards in the parking lot in the middle of the day with plenty of people around. I can't recall the amount of purse snatchings and robberies that have taken place at Kroger/HEB/Walmart at Sawdust and 45. Also the kids have been pretty busy breaking into cars lately so lock up and stay safe out there. AB, PC, VOGM, they don't care.

Welcome to the board Butterfly!

I was in the Best Buy parking lot this evening (still light out) and was counting cash in my front seat with my door open. All of a sudden, I got a DUH moment and closed my door. I just get way too comfortable and do stupid stuff like that. I'm trying to be more careful, but old habits are hard to break!

I know what you mean. I have a tiny purse and have a bad habit of leaving it unzipped. I'm going to reach in for cash one of these days and realise that I've invited someone else to it!

I try to avoid shopping down on Sawdust.

Can't you buy tasers here? Last time I was in Texas ( early 80s ) you could buy just about anything short of a missile. Other than a hand gun what're the choices here?

Pepper spray, maybe?

I don't know where one is locally, but I used to shop at the police supply store in Huntsville for mace. If tasers are legal, I'm sure places like that sell them.

Dummy me though sprayed it to "make sure it worked" and the wind blew it right back at me. DUH. I haven't carried it since college though because I have always worried one of the kids would accidentally spray it.
