This weather! And more lightning?! I don't know how much more I can handle . We have an outdoor den meeting planned at a park at 8:30a... I hope it doesn't rain like this all night.

I'm sick of rain, too. The plus side is we haven't had the heat we normally have this time of year. But, we're all getting a little stir crazy with our best laid plans constantly getting cancelled due to the rain.

I totally agree about the heat! I was reading the Chronicle online this morning and they were showing a report about the rain and it said that there were officially only 3 days in June that there was no rain. I knew it seemed that way, but didn't think it was really that bad!

I was glad to wake up this morning and not hear the rain. Our den meeting went as planned, but the park was so muddy! At least we were all prepared.... most of the boys just wore their bathing suits and water shoes. Made hosing the mud off of them at the end quite easy!

Wilson, you guys have den meetings in the summer?

I agree about this weather. I am downright sick of it. My yard is saturated and I have to take my shoes off to go get the mail. I REALLY need to get my yard mowed and until we have at least one day of sun, it won't be dry enough. Even then, I can't use the riding lawnmower because it will leave ruts in the yard. But, I can at least use the pushmower to do the front.

I AM SICK OF THE RAIN. We haven't been able to use our Splashtown passes much lately either.

This is our first year to meet in the summer. We're Bears this year and a lot of the boys have other activities during the school year (sports & tutoring, etc) and some of the families asked if we could go ahead and get started to get some of the requirements out of the way. We really got behind last year and it was pushing things to make rank by B&G, so we went ahead and got started already. It's working out to about 3 meetings altogether... one each month.

I'd like to get our pack on board with the Summertime Activity Award and have already spoken with our CC with some ideas for next summer. Garrr, that reminds me, I really need to finish up the new website!

Ugghhh. It's so damp, too. Went to the mall today to get new shoes for Little Bit and was all sticky just walking back to the car.

I hate Texas in the summer. And the heat hasn't even hit us yet.

We are a doing a pool party and another pack activity in August for the Summertime Activity Award. (We did fishing in June.)

That's exactly what I had in mind! I want to do the pool party in June, we need an activity for July (4th of July parade is a possibility that we haven't tried yet) and then there is our big August Waterguns & Watermelons event. Sounds easy enough, eh? ;)

If you guys did the parade, that certainly counts. I am actually organizing our Pack library tonight. Someone donated a tote full of manuals that need to be bound, so I am going through them all, putting them in binders and labeling it. I plan on going to Wood Badge this year, so I will use this as one of the requirements. :) (Organizing a Pack library.)

Have you already signed up for a Wood Badge session? I've wanted to go for 2 years now, but... I'd like to know beforehand how many women would be in the class :p.

I'm holding my breath for 16 more minutes...if no rain, then we will have gone a full day without it! YAY!!

I was thinking along those lines at dinner - it got windy and I saw some dark clouds coming, but then it passed... and I realised that we may have broken some curse lol.

no rain, I even got the yard cut. If I dont cut the back yard at least once a week. Three weeks ago, I could only see two little black point things running around. Turned out those were my Boston Terriers ears. But today I cut and weed eated and tomorrow with little help from a large pair of sissors and god. I will trim the hedges....But maybe our friends will bring the kids over so I can play in the splashpad....

Our front yard got mowed, but the back yard is still way too wet. And as tall as it is, I'm not sure when it will dry out much.

I need some major hedge clipping and edging now. I think I will just hire a team to come out and do everything, so I don't have to worry about it while dh is done and out.
