We had our pup, Nora (9m), spayed on Friday. All our other pets have come already altered, so this has been a first time experience for me. She was a little groggy when I picked her up Friday afternoon and couldn't walk completely straight, but seemed fine when we got home. They said to try and keep her still & quiet for a week! LOL! We've done our best to keep the dogs separated for the last few days (a lot easier to do with crates!) and they've been okay with that. They play/fight pretty rough and I'm sure Nora's sore. I haven't given her any of the pain pills they Rx'd because it's Rimadyl and I remember reading some pretty bad stuff about that. I tried to talk to the vet about it, but they didn't know what I was talking about and didn't seem very willing to give us something else. I figured I'd fight it if she really seemed to need it, but she's not whimpered at all and still bounces around and plays like nothing happened. I hope we're doing the right thing.

I would think if she is hurting, she would slow down on her own. I'm sure she is fine.

they snap out of it way faster than one would think. The females moreso then the males. Usually by the second day they are ready to play and get back to life as normal.

It was hard to keep her "quiet" those first few days, but since then we've just let her go and she really seems 100%. I never expected that to be so easy!

hehehe, seems the more active teh dog, the quicker the recovery :) Glad to hear she's back to her old self
