I LOVE having a son old enough to mow! :D I got out there with the pushmower for about five minutes. He walked out, saw me hot and offered to mow for me. I just made him a (virgin) Pina Colada to cool him off!

I knew these kids would pay off someday. ;)

My kids would do nothing but play video games if I didn't have them doing housework! I can't wait until they're old enough to work a mower!

My oldest son is actually a very hard worker. He "surprised" me last night by completely cleaning the hallway bathroom. Which includes the cat litter box and water/food dishes, which he cleaned and refilled. He scrubbed the toilet, swept the bathroom and picked up the ten towels that were on the floor.

He takes the trash out any time it is full, takes the cans to the curb twice a week, walks both dogs (separately) one mile every day, feeds and waters the dogs, bathes the dogs when needed and anything else I ask him to do. He really is a good kid.

Stephanie, on the other hand, is supposed to be the one taking care of the cats, but won't do it until she asked. Or anything else unless she is asked. She does do it when asked, and doesn't complain, but I hate having to tell her when to do things. Andrew (7) will do whatever I ask him to do. He just isn't old enough to do some of the stuff.

I took the twins over to a friends' house to swim, so now I have to play a few games of air hockey to make it up to Andrew. He was too young to go, which always REALLY upsets him. I WANT A POOL!

The pool's great until something breaks . We haven't been able to swim in nearly a week and Executive is still working on it. (Executive's been great, this is soooo not their fault!) Not to mention this is costing a fortune!

What's broken? Didn't you just get this pool put in last summer?

Three years ago next month. The main pump's impeller broke and the motor went out on the waterfall pump. Executive is in the process of fixing the main pump, but it's still not working as of today. The icing on the cake is that I just got home from dropping the kids off at science camp and the whole bloody house is hot and the a/c is running running running. I'm about to nuke this place.

If it makes you feel any better, it is probably hotter here than it is in TW right now, and we don't have A/C. Gotta love it when it is 94 at noon (not counting the humidity).

I'd be okay with it, if I knew it wasn't going to result in yet another repair bill :(. I've been looking at it and it appears to be the motor is out on the unit outside. At least there is another unit, but that one is working twice as hard to cool the house now. It does mean the difference in being able to stay in the house, though. Hal Watson is coming out tomorrow to look at it. I'm wondering how many repair guys I'll have out here all at once .

It is always that way - everything breaks at once. I'm not sure if it is better to get all the stuff fixed close together so you don't have to wait around for repair people for weeks or if it is better for it to break one at a time so you can spread out the financial pain.

We have the original contractor grade ac here and this house has had 4 owners and renters in between so you know it is hanging on by a thread. I live in fear of both units needing replacement at the same time.

Yes... I've been saying to myself all day, "it really could be worse". And I *know* it could be worse! My brother's a/c went out completely last week... I think the total damage was $8K . I don't think this is anything close to that, but I'm still hoping for under $500... sigh. It's time to sell that stupid car...

8K ouch that is painful!

I keep renewing the warranty on the house just in case they both go at once. You know the warranty company will put in cheap contractor grade stuff. I'd rather buy it myself. But 8 k ouch. Is that heat too?

Here's hoping they are all sexy! ;)

I can't believe it has already been three years! Seems like you just got that pool.

JOliver, that has to REALLY suck not having A/C. I can't even imagine. Our A/C isn't running great either. Fortunately, I am sorta related to an A/C guy so he is coming out tomorrow morning and will fix it. We have home warranty on it, but they take forever to come out.
