You can call Lord of Lutheran on Panther Creek or visit their website. I was told that they are having it next week 9-12.

I was referring to the thread I started about Fellowship of the Woodlands' VBS. It starts July 16th.
I figured everyone would get my sick sense of humor with the "Yeah" comment! LOL!
Guess not. :o

I figured you were being secretive.:)

I didn't catch it, but I did know you were just joking. I figured it was one of those things where someone ask if you know something and the other person says, "Yes" but doesn't elaborate. :)

I got it ;). At least, I had hoped that's what you meant. I had intended to confirm the dates to make sure, but forgot about it.

I got it too. I started to add "you don't want to know" to your post, but I figured she got it too.
Sorry.

Duh on me for not catching it. We won't be going to FOTW not only because of the cost, but because I imagine it will be a madhouse to get there and then to pick up the kids.
For the entertainment, it is a good price. It is just the idea of paying so much for VBS that turns me off. I'm looking for good old fashion FREE or $10 for the shirt.

Well, it is not a terrible price for entertainment, but I tend to agree it doesn't seem like a "VBS" thing to do. I can understand someone deciding against that particular VBS due to the cost. Had we never attended that VBS, I wouldn't have signed the kids up, either. But, I know firsthand how much fun the kids have there, and I'm needing a little mid-summer, kid free time myself.
Maybe by next summer it won't be that important to them, or maybe Fellowship will decide it was a mistake to charge so much for VBS.

I totally agree with it being a madhouse just to pick up and drop off.

That's the worst part for me. Since I would only be taking one kid, the cost isn't "that" big of a deal. I could see it becoming quite expensive though for someone with several children.
Again though, I agree it is a good deal for the "fun" factor and the time. It would cost much more if you went to a gym or other type of kid entertainment center.
We have passes for Splashtown. I need to take them there at least a few more times before summer ends. We already recouped our cost, but I would like to take them several more times. The teens are old enough they go off and do their own thing. I just have to follow my youngest (7) around and watch over him. Fortunately, he is old enough to go on most rides alone. I just have to wait at the bottom.
Anyone know of private swimming lessons (through an individual)? I don't care to fight off YMCA crowds either and my youngest needs lessons.

I'll send a message to your inbox of someone. She may be full, but it won't hurt to call. Just give me a sec to find her phone number.

I e-mailed her, but if you find her number that would be great! I imagine she is out at the pool during most of the day.

Regarding our conversation earlier at the "Stop and Rob" about another possible VBS, see if this link works. The ad was in The Villager today and I think that ad said you could register online.

It is kinda off the subject but one of the things I hate about being an adult is I don't get to go to any more VBS! I really miss being a kid sometimes!

No kidding! It's the best way to relive your youth! Even my mom is a VBS volunteer ;). I don't consider myself a "kid person", don't get me wrong - I love my kids and I even like some of my friends' kids. I'm just not all googly over other people's babies and kids lol. But *working* with kids? OMG it's the best! I really love watching them learn, exploring new ideas, seeing their faces light up when they've realised that they *can* do it themselves, showing them how to find the answers themselves, etc. There's *nothing* like it.

Besides that, Wilson, we get to do all the "hand motions" and "dances" and "artwork" just like the kiddos do! And, eat their snacks, too! LOL!
When else can we get away with that?
I'm taking a hiatus from VBS this year, but I don't plan on it being permanent! VBS is too much fun!

I never can learn the hand motions in the five days....LOL
I did the crafts with the kids last year and had a blast. I especially love that our church always does evening VBS. Dh and I used to take the kids to VBS in the evenings and have a date night. Five days that week. :) :)

Shoot, I can't get those silly hand motions down, either! LOL! I still have fun watching and trying.
Our circumstances are a little different from most people, so I really don't care if it is morning or evening VBS. (Well, except I don't have to wake up quite so early if it was an evening VBS!)
I hope the kids will be up to this one, too. By the time that one starts, they will have been to two, but they seem to really enjoy them! It is a good way for us to learn about other churches, too. (Back to the "reaching out" theme as posted in another thread).

That is the only reason I like the evening. Well, and the fact that dh and I can go to dinner. But, these days it doesn't matter as much. The twins are old enough to be home without us for short times and they can watch the youngest one for short times. We don't have the childcare issue we had for years.
One year, I took all three of mine, two of my nieces and a friend to VBS each morning. And, then they were signed up for one that same night! They went to about seven that summer and loved it. That was back when FOTW was "only" $10. ;)

I'm seriously thinking about it! I may ask the girls if they want to go, but if history repeats itself, they'll be up to it!
And, it doesn't cost anything! I'll send a bigger offering this time, if one is taken!
