I think I am going to join this. Anyone on here a member? Is it an active club?
I am definitely a beginner, but would love to learn more.

Looks pretty cool. I'm less than a beginner but wouldn't mind learning a bit more too. I just dread it getting overly technical or something. Every now and then I accidentally take a halfway decent photo that I can be proud of.

You are so good with computers though, the technical stuff shouldn't phase you!
I think some people are just naturals. A old friend of mine's husband picked up a camera last spring and started taking pictures. He is the most incredible photographer without a minute of training. He was taking great photos from the second he started. He just has an eye for it. Me, on the other hand, I get a few good ones here and there, but I just don't have the eye he has. He is absolutely gifted. Some things you just can't be taught.

Maybe but it's because I deal with computers that I don't want to have to deal with more technical stuff, FG. Obviously with more automatic features it's easier to get a halfway decent photo now but serious photogs still diddle with stuff like film speeds, f-stops and the like and that's way more information than I need or want. Plus, I just don't have the image composer's eye and that's far more important than anything else.

That's what I am worried about. I'm worried that I won't have the natural eye to ever really be a decent photographer. I sure do want a natural talent. I wish we could BUY that. :)

Yes, it's a good thing digital film is cheap.:)
I work by brute force. Take a 100 photos and keep the dozen best of the bunch.
The club looks interesting. I'm already spread pretty thin right now. Are you going to go?

Same here. If I remember it though, I would like to go. And, I would love it if you met me there. :) Maybe, if I feel ambitious, I will add it to the calendar on here and it will remind us both.

Not anytime soon. He is off the rest of this week and all of next, but thinks he is going to take two more weeks off because of the ear.

Yes, would love a chance to meet you in person.
Remind me when the club meeting comes up if you are going. If not maybe we can sneak out for coffee or lunch one day.
