Still have two aquariums left. Make me an offer. I need to get rid of them before I deploy again.

75 long and 85 hexagon.

Could you post pictures? I cannot picture those dimensions/sizes in my head for squat. We currently have a 22 gallon (I think) and our Balla Sharks are getting so big they need more room. Plus our Wags keep having babies.

What about donating them to a school/teacher? Teachers at our school have all sorts of classroom pets - fish included! They'd probably love nice aquariums.

Tanks are gone. Anyone interested in trampoline with enclosure?

I love the hex tank! I think it's even more beautiful now that it's here than I could tell with the pictures. :)
Now about that trampoline....I will have to ask my SO about that tonight; I think it would be a fun thing to have. We have an incredibly small back yard, though....

OK. And I'm glad you like the tank. After you get it set up, send me a pix.

Looks like we'd like a trampoline, too! Can we get some more details? My only concern is safety of it because of my little ones; is it very old or worn? I'm sure it isn't but of course I need to ask. We decided if it was a good deal like the tanks were then we might as well get a trampoline now even if we never set it up until we buy our new house about a year from now.
I'll post pics of the tank when we get it up; right now I'm looking for a service that would come and set it up for us. Christian wants to make it salt water and since we are pretty inexperienced I decided it's best to hire someone to get it started for us/train us! Do you (or anyone reading) know of any service?

It's 2 yo with enclosure. Spring pad is a little weather worn, and where the legs join could use some rustoleum. It is in great shape. For you guys, $50 and you have to take it apart. I'll help if you need it.

Try Aquariums are Us just past animal shelter on 242.

YOU ARE AWESOME! It's definitely a deal! Christian will be in touch; I think he can handle the grunt work along with his buddy he brought last weekend. Thanks! And I will definitely look into the Aquarium Guys.

My neighbor lost her homeowner's coverage when they stopped by for some routine property photos and realized she had a trampoline. Might oughta check...

It's all good. We rent a house for now; not buying a house for at least another year. When it comes time to insure property we will deal with the issue of having a trampoline and whatever else might come up then. I will keep it in mind for the future, so thanks.

 No warning, no time to make corrections? They just flat out lost their homeowner's insurance? That's CRAZY! Lots of people have trampolines. They could lose a lot of business by not insuring people with trampolines.

I asked DH if we wanted the trampoline. He immediately informed me that a doc friend of his told him that trampolines were the #2 cause of head injuries in children. Coffee tables was #1.

My homeowners is fine with it, and the trampoline has an enclosure so that you can't jump off of it.

I knew someone who was an x-ray technician who said he saw more kids come in with broken bones from riding scooters at too young of an age than for any other reason.

My daughter got a fracture from running track. My other one broke her foot dancing. I broke my ankle jogging. My brother-n-law cut his finger off cutting wood. I know someone who broke his arm when he fell off a bike. Kids drown in pools every year. I had a Friend who I rushed her daughter to emergency with a broken arm after doing a cart wheel. I made a call where a girl broke her neck coming down the stairs. My wife broke her big toe when she kicked a chair in the dark.

I think that makes my point.

We don't have room in the backyard, or I'd take it! We've got a pool, too. And I gave my then-3yo a scooter. Heck, my 5yo was out today shooting bbguns with another 5yo. We've had our fair share of stitches so far, no broken bones yet. I had a much more "dangerous" childhood and neither me nor my brother had any broken bones. I broke my foot running into the doorway post-partum, though. They wanted to pin it back together.

Well I'm looking very forward to getting it set up! After all the boys already bounce all over the freaking place anyway; I'd prefer they do it in an enclosed trampoline! Safer than everything else they dive off/climb up and run around. This is definitely going to get me a smidgen of more peace inside the house! :p

I need to get one of these for my little monkeys. They have a bounce house now, but it's not very big and my almost-six-year-old is going to outgrow it soon.

I would have calm, quiet kids when I was younger and hyper kids now that I'm older  (thanks to their dad's hyperactivity genes)

My mom's got one (4 grandsons) and it sure comes in handy... they'll all run out there and jump, wrestle on it, play "football" on it, tackle each other, etc., then come back inside when they need a rest.

:o I wasn't attempting to dissuade anyone. I thought the coffee table thing was funny. Like everyone should do away with their coffee tables. . . I'm not a wrap your kid in bubble wrap kind of parent.

BD,
Sorry, I was cranky. I'm in Dallas doing my SRP for deployment and I'm feeling the pressure of leaving my kids. Missing daughters graduation so on and so on.

Sorry,
From Cranky

mdonn - you don't owe me an apology at all, after everyone's replies I realized it looked like I was discouraging the trampoline thing. (Hence the embarassed smiley).

Thanks guys. Right now I need hugs. I chose this life, so I have to follow the path. If something happens, I just hope my girls know that they were my whole life, but I also have to protect these young soldiers. It's something I can't explain.

I've been wanting to say something significant or inspirational....but no good at that. I have no children or spouses involved in the war but I do have a little sister (I wasn't raised with her/only got to know thru internet past few years) that is all gung-ho in the Army. I say 'gung-ho' because she started out as just reserves back in 2000 and then got sent to the sandbox in '06. She came back and less than a year later decided she would become full time enlisted and ....get this, WANTED to go back. I sorta get it; the pride and all. She's a young mother, though and so I guess I could look at people like you going to save younger ones as a blessing to me. I do worry although she would hate that.....I'm trying to say 'thanks' to you and men like you. But I know that's kinda stupid, considering. I mean 'cause 'thanks' sounds so lame.
My sister requested I send her liquor when she is re-deployed. I wasn't sure if she was joking or not and asked if that was allowed. I'm still waiting on that reply but if it turns out it is, I'd gladly send you some liquor as well! :D

msmichellemiller
01-26-2008, 11:30 PM
Okay; I *just* heard from her and apparently we are not allowed to send liquor to our soldiers. Sorry..... I still meant to be appreciative in my own way though, ya know? Maybe when you come home? Call us up! ;) We can show off our new tank and trampoline! ;)
