As many of you know, I live on Dead Man's Curve and have actually had a car land in our master bedroom. Almost every week, someone lands in our neighbor's ditch. Sure enough, a few minutes ago, we heard screeching tires, then BOOM.
We walked out to check on everyone and I have never seen two adults and a child scurry away so fast. A truck following stopped and they immediately got into that vehicle. It is strange how quickly they left. Anyway, our excitement for the night, lol. Being the photobug I am, I ran out and took pictures. I had to get out of the road though because another car was coming, so these pictures were taken quickly and aren't that great. I need a more exciting life, I know..lol

Where is dead mans curve? The only one I know about is the S curve on Sawdust leading up to TL/TR.

We had a place like that. My sister still has that home. The house is more than 1000' back so it doesn't get hit.
To protect the neighbor's home they lined the median between the driveways with huge boulders.
Someone misses the curve they hit the boulder. The boulder gets pushed about 5'-30' depending on how fast the car was going. The insurance company then pays them to move the bolder back. Pa would take the tractor and go relocate the bolder again. It's been supplying dinners out for the two houses for years. And more importantly the boulders weight enough to stop the cars before they hit the house.
If someone had landed in my house I'd be out there building a wall. How scary!

We live in Chateau Woods and it is an S curve just like Sawdust. Actually much sharper than Sawdust and more narrow lanes. (We just call it Dead Mans Curve.)

Yup, Chris & Lacie had another one! They called the cops out and we hung out for a short while watching the tow truck take it away. Their ditch is so deep I don't think they will every have to worry about someone really getting in their yard.
When the car hit our house, aside from the repairs to the house, they paid about $4,000 to repair the landscaping. We seriously considered boulders, but instead we talked the city into putting up steel cables and posts. So far, only one or two have missed the cables/post and landed in our ditch. But, that only places them at the corner of our property. Which isn't a big deal. The pine tree stops them there as well.

Remember when there were two on Kuykendahl? I was so glad when both of them were re-engineered! I wonder how many wrecks occured on them, esp at night. It seems like yours has to do with house and car more than car and car. Maybe some hay stacks with inlaid with barrells should be there and the driver has to replace the stuffhe destroys ... but then again, knowing teens, they would be challenged to dare and double dares. :)
