Grrr....I was getting some change that was donated ready to take to the bank. (Donated during VBS.) The first three rolls of dimes that I picked up were all different lengths. I checked a few rolls and NONE of them were correct. I started going through most of the change and realized that they just weren't right and ended up having to recount $600  worth of change. Out of ALL of that change, ONLY about four rolls were correct. (I didn't bother to recount the pennies. There were over 200 rolls of pennies.) I recounted the quarters, dimes and nickels. I cannot believe how wrong these rolls were. How hard is it to count change? These weren't kids counting the money.

When it was all said and done, the "extra" dimes and quarters in each roll added $30 to the total.

Who did roll the money?

Too bad you can't keep the extra proceeds, but I know you wouldn't want to cheat a charity. Someone should at least offer you lunch!

Volunteers with VBS. That is why I was amazed it was so wrong. More than one adult counted that money.

Too busy chatting.

The fastest way to count change for rolls is to make stacks of 10 coins. Then you don't have to count, just match the height. It goes quicker and the volunteers can chat while they do it.

You might check with the bank too. I haven't tried here but back in Mass. I could take the change and a deposit slip to the bank. They would count it up for me at night in the machines after the bank closed and mail me back the deposit slip.
