I didnt know if anyone saw this. http://www.click2houston.com/news/13382136/detail.html

My employee is the grandmother of this baby. Her stepson is going to jail for a long time for this stunt. How can anyone leave two kids that age alone...They also said things to the media that isnt the truth. We know for a fact that he(live in boyfriend) leaves for work at 5 and his girlfriend(real mother) doesnt get home until 7:30 or so.

I know the grandmother is a very sweet person and good lady. But I am sorry I cant say the same for the son.

That's tragic :(. I hope the 6yo didn't start the fire - she'll endure this pain for her lifetime, but to compound it with guilt?

It's a shame that the family didn't look to the neighbors that saved the 6yo when they needed help with childcare.

The family is in my prayers.

We had a friend who fell asleep and her oldest son played with matches. Their home caught on fire and their youngest son was burned SEVERELY. The entire family has suffered for years. Not only the physical effects of the burned child, but the emotional trauma the other son has gone through carrying that guilt. And, the middle daughter became the "invisible child" throughout it all, which caused eventual problems in her teens. :(
