A day or so ago, I sent an email through TCID's website regarding their towing policy when parking at Market Street. For now, I've just gotten pointed in another direction, but I'm posting this here in case others are concerned about the um, excitement of the Market Street management to have cars towed once they set foot off the property. Like if we park at Market Street and take the trolley over to the mall, will our cars still be there when we get back?
Here's the email response from TCID:
"Thanks for the question. TCID does not control or encourage towing from private properties. Market Street is privately owned. The General Manager Harold Dull sets the policies for towing from his property. TCID has worked with Mr. Dull on changing his towing policy. Mr. Dull has invited the trolleys onto his property. There are other private property owners in Town Center and each regulates their own towing policies. The Town Center Garage at Six Pines and Lake Robbins is the only TCID owned property.
TCID currently participates in a Parking Committee that is comprised of the many land owners and government agencies in the Town Center. This group works to get private property owners to work together to provide better parking in Town Center. Since this inquiry involves Market Street I suggest you contact Harold Dull the General Manager about specific concerns.
I assure you that TCID does all it can to make parking available and to get existing parking facilities to work together to answer parking concerns.
