The Harry Potter Series
The Catcher in the Rye
Snow Crash
Neuromancer
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
A Wrinkle in Time
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
House of Leaves
Stranger in a Strange Land
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
1984
Dune
Childhood's End
Cat's Cradle
I, Robot
Some of these I hadn't even heard of, but A Wrinkle in Time brought back memories. I bought this last year meaning to read it to my kids... the series was my absolute favorite as a kid! Most of the others I've not thought about in over 10 years, though.

Looks like I have 4 to go. :P I recommend snow crash only if you like computers, but it is a very good read if you do.

I bought it last year too. (During same time we were all talking about it in a thread.) My oldest son did read it and LOVED it! He moaned and groaned at first since I assigned it to him, but a short time into it, he was enthralled.

Looks like I better get to reading - I've only heard of a few of these. What is wrinkle in time about? sounds interesting.

I 've not read the Hobbit series, I just can't get into it or H. Potter.
Not sure I'd make that the list for geeks, no Azimov or Heinlein?

They left out Lemony Snickets "Series of Unfortunate Events" series. I haven't read any of them, but we have the movie, and really like it. My SIL has read the series and loved them!
"Wrinkle in Time" has been made into a movie. I've seen the previews on one of the DVDs the kids watch. I haven't seen it out in stores, though.

I just put 10 of the Series of Unfortunate Events on eBay to sell. Perfect condition. I started to save them for my youngest, but my daughter bought them and wanted to sell them for her own money.
