I've spent so much $$ and tried sooooo many brands but I cannot find that perfect moisturizer. I need something heavy, not lite for my ultra dry skin. AND I need a good cleansing cream (emphasis on the word cream). I hate the things on the market now that you put on and wash off. I want the old fashioned thick, creamy cream that you put on and tissue off. The only thing I can find now is Pond's cleansing cream.
Aren't there any others on the market?

Clinique makes great moisturizers. Get the yellow stuff - they'll know what you're talking about. edit: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion is the proper name. Best stuff out there.
What about Noxema (sp) for the face? It comes in a dark blue container you can usually find it at Walmart-Target-Grocery Stores.

I used to go to a dermatologist who did ads for Cetaphil. She had great skin! It is pretty mild and not that expensive maybe you should give it a try. I think it's supposed to be non-drying. It's not a cream, more like a lotion.

I have always loved Mary Kay. They have a heavy moisturizer as well.
The cleansing cream I use though is the kind you put on and wash off. My skin is ONLY good when I am using their products. I can immediately tell if I switch products. I use cheap eye shadow and other color, but not skincare products.

Bummer, I've already used the yellow stuff at Clinique and the Cetaphil and the NOxema (the most drying of all). I used to use Mary Kay exclusively and always loved their cleansing cream but I was thinking that several years ago I stopped using it because they changed it...maybe I should try to find a local MK rep and try it again. It used to be a nice heavy cream. My most favorite was an olllllllllldddddddddddddd brand that is no longer available - Helena Rubeintein. That was the best moisturizer in the world!

Ask Josefa if she can help. She has a lot of experience with a particular Spanish brand Germaine de Capuccini and searched for a long time to find out how she could acquire it use and sell in the store. The product line is critical to her facial program.

Oh, you want serious heavy duty stuff.
You need this:

I don't know if they sell it local. We used in up north during very cold winters. Check all the usual places that carry neutrogena stuff.

Thanks RM and Herself - I will check both out!

Herself - they do sell it locally. I've seen it many times but it says it is for cracked heels. Ok to put on face?

I use the normal moisturizer from Mary Kay. But, they have a heavy moisturizer that is just too much for me. It is very thick. Perhaps that is what you should try. Let me look around, I just may have some around here. If so, you can have it.

Yes, totally ok for faces.
I used it up north occasionally. It works wonders. It's awful heavy so I try not to use it. But that is what you are looking for is heavy duty stuff.
They have a whole line of Norweign (sp?) moisturizers, all are excellent and amazing. Any one of that line should work the cracked heel one is the heaviest of the line.
Cheap too, you can't beat the price for a quality product.

You're right...it is cheap and I think I'll try it...thanks
RM, do you mind asking J how much her product is as well...as I may need to try that one next.
FG - yeppers I think it was the really heavy one (kind of pink and more of a salve rather than a lotion or cream (back in the olden days, LOL). If you've got a little sitting around collecting dust, I'd be happy to try it.
I just know somewhere something has got to work. I've been seein Albolene advertised on TV and I think that was an old old brand from many years ago. I have no idea where you get it but I even thought about trying it.

Sure, I asked. She would like for you to come by the store so she can show you and explain it to you. You can test at least one product right there without any cost or obligation. Since there is more than one product that might fit your need and I do not have a price list in front of me, that would be the best way for you I think. Otherwise, I will get the prices from the store. She was on her way out the door when I asked, so we had just a brief exchange of thought on the subject.

Just a quick note to provide feedback on my experiment with moisturizers. I went to pharmacy to pick up prescriptions the other day and there I found the Neutrogena Sweedish formula cracked heel stuff and the Albolene cleansing cream. I have used both for 3 days and they are both wonderful. The Albolene is one of the best cleansing creams I've ever bought - $10 for a huge jar.
And Herself, it never occurred to me to buy a product for something else and use it for different purpose...duhhhhhhhhh. But WHAT a great moisturizer for very little cost.
RM - I'm still going to check out what J has as well. I'm sure it, too, is very good - though probably a bit pricier than the old standard Neutrogena.

Glad it works for you.
I think they just change mark up the face moisturizers 300% and change the label. I'm not convinced there is a difference on most products.
