From the Association:

Be A Responsible Pet Owner- In recent months, the Community Associations have received number complaints about pet waste in the parks, pathways and in community member’s front yards. Pet waste is more than smelly and unsightly- it is a health risk to the environment, pets, people and children. Animal waste contains disease-causing pathogens and harmful chemicals and nutrients that when not properly disposed of impedes landscaping efforts and can wash down storm drains contaminating our local drinking water. Please be reminded that it is a common courtesy to pick up after your pet. Your actions set example for others. Tell friends and neighbors about the ill effects of animal waste on the environment and encourage them to clean up after pets.

I am so sick of people thinking it's ok to leave their dog poop in my yard! It takes gall to let your dog to to the bathroom and just keep on walking. My neighbors and I got so disgusted I finally put out a sign. The first week iit was out, it got thrown over my bushes. The next week, it was gone entirely. Did it stop the people from using my yard as their bathroom? No. We're thinking of putting out a videocam so we can collect all of the poop and re-deliver it where it belongs!

I asked my neighbor nicely TWICE.

you really cant get mad at the dog.

3rd time i waited for the mail man. ever he left I put a pile of his dog sh*t on top of his mail in the box. I did this twice. We had words. I told him I would continue doing it as long as his dog sh*t in my yard.

I am old, but can still handle myself no problem. This jerk really pissed me off, and I had no intention of backing down.......

long story short........

no more land mines in my yard.

You've touched on a very sore subject with me. I walk my dog every day. She is 15 months old and has NEVER gone to the bathroom in anyone else's yard. I save the plastic bags the Chronicle is delivered in and carry one with me most time, just in case something should happen but never has. Soon as I get her home and remove her leash in our backyard, she runs and poops. I live on a corner and that seems to be an invitation for everyone who walks their dog to poop in my yard. One guy walks 2 labs every day and they make a pit stop in my front yard. I ran out the front door one day and caught them in the act and read him the riot act. He claimed he was trying to teach them not to do that. Duhhhhhhhhhh, don't let them get in my damn yard you idiot!

If that was true, he'd have baggies with him to pick it up. It's not that hard!

I agree about picking up the poop. It's unfair to other people to leave it on the ground. I use the bags that you get at Petsmart because they are biodegradeable. Sometimes one or both of my dogs will poop in someones yard, but they'd never know it because I pick it up. I even had one lady come out and thank me for picking it up! :0)

Our next door neighbor lets their two dogs out at night about 10:00 and I've seen them run right over to our yard and do their thing.:(. Once we were standing and talking to him and his dog did it right there in front of him and us. The man was very apologetic and came back and cleaned it up but I guess he doesn't know we see them do the same thing in the evening.

I say video tape them, then post it on here. Someone left their dog in the car at Market Street one time and a poster put a picture of the car on the site. Too funny! I hope someone saw them that knew them.
