I achieved a new milestone in my life. This was one of my goals for this year. I ran a half marathon in the gentle hills of east Texas. It was a spectacular place to run - Davy Crockett State Park.
Statistics
58th of 149 runners or 39th percentile of all age groups
4th of 5 from The Woodlands
3rd of 8 in my age group
Time achieved: 1:57:44
Time Goal: 2:00:00
I have decided this will not be my last one. Maybe next year or even this fall, I will try a full marathon.

Congrats! I started running a little over a year ago and love it! Too bad my knees, ankles, and back aren't that into it. I am nowhere near marathon status, but I try to run a couple miles at least 4 times a week.

Good for you, IndianSpringsGuy!! I admire the runners who make it look effortless. Your body and mind will be better, healthier longer. I do well to stay on the treadmill, under the fan, in front of the TV at the Y. Yeah, I'm a wus.:o

Thanks, it's been a long hard road to get here, but well worth the effort and time that goes into it. A "runner's high" is different than I had imagined.

Thought I would share how someone else saw this. This is a website (or blog) of someone who has picked up on this drama (as he sees it). Funny how others will see a person. The guy is amazed at my age when I started this adventure.

Congrats! That's a big accomplishment. I keep trying to get into running, but I just can't seem to enjoy it. Good job!
