Yea, just two more days of school! I'm ready for a break from all of the running around, homework, morning routine, etc... Natv, are you ready for the neighborhood kids? ;)

We bought Splashtown passes this year. I'm hoping to be there several times a week to keep the kids busy and not watching TV.

in a word...No! Not really, but I WILL be glad when they go BACK to school! I'm just out of the little kid mode.

I am relieved! My youngest was done last week already. My oldest is ready to be done - I agree with him. These last 2 days are just silly. I'm ready for my kids to be home! I need the break from the schedules.

What is confusing to me is thqt the Jr. High and High Schools are on early release these next two days, but Elementary isn't. My dd has 2 finals today and 2 tomorrow. She had 2 last week also. We couldn't go out of town due to finals this week. I wanted her rested.

Ah... I was talking about this with a neighbor this morning. I had heard something about Early Release, but couldn't find any info about it officially. It just applies to the upper schools - that makes sense. Sorta.

I know what you mean about schedules, Wilson. I remember feeling that things would slow down during summer break. Then I was ready for the school year to start. My neighbor's kids are always bored the 2nd day of summer! I could certainly fix that!

LOL! My kids might get a little bored this summer as well. I didn't plan much for camps - just the essentials (cub scouts and science camp) and there is a one day thing that will just be fun for them. We have a couple short camping trips planned and then nothing else. This summer is almost 13 weeks! There are going to be a few bored kids out there. I think that a little boredom can be a good thing for most kids. Our lives are too planned out!

Isn't that the truth! We were at lunch Sunday and my youngest son (7) started complaining he was BORED at the friggin' lunch table! That one irritated me. Here we are at a restuarant and he complained he was bored. They know when they complain at home, we will find things for them to do. Raking, weeding, walking the dog, vacuuming, etc....lol

My daughter is in Kindergarten and goes to our church school. Her last day is Thursday. But, Kindergarten is half day at our school (changes to full day next year). I have been taking her to school and picking her up every day! Plus, our school is off of 1960 and Red Oak, so it's no short drive. I am thrilled that my good friends son starts next year and we can carpool - we live 3 minutes away from each other! That will save me so much time AND GAS :D

As far as summer, I don't have a lot planned. We just moved 6 months ago and I have all of these organizational projects that I couldn't dive into with kids in preschool and Kindergarten. They have VBS at our church in July, although I am teaching that entire week as well! My parents have a pool and are less than 10 minutes away, so we plan to spend some time there. The kids have been loving the library, so there's another free activity! We also bought the passes for the Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse. My kids love it and it's ultra cheap. We bring our own snacks too :D
