We are in need of a crib - dark wood! Of course I am willing to buy it, but we got rid of ALL of our baby stuff in Sept/Oct and now we are having another bundle of joy! It is a boy, so "he" will be sharing a room with our other son who had dark furniture! Any help on finding this...and MANY other items...haha...would be great...of course I am NOT looking for free, just reasonably priced!
Thanks so much!

This isn't inexpensive, but considering what you're getting with a nice mattress and sheets included, it's not a bad price. Plus, it's pretty! Congratulations on the new baby! http://woodlandsonline.com/clps/clitem.cfm?adsid=121195

We are looking to get rid of our crib when my baby turns two in the middle of June. (We're getting him a Thomas the Train bed for his birthday!:D)
Only thing is it's WHITE. And to be honest, it isn't much to look at. It's in perfect condition, though. Maybe you could paint? Also it's one of those 'grow with me cribs' that transform into a toddler bed, then a little day bed. Again, I wasn't crazy about the look of it when you transform it, which is why we're getting him a new bed for the toddler stage.
I wouldn't charge a dime for it if you decide it'd be worth it to take it. I'm afraid I don't have any other baby items to offer since a couple of friends of mine had babies right after me and inherited everything as he's grown.

I have a crib, but it is a light wood. It is also a day bed to big bed. I think I have some crib sheets and blankets.

Congrats!! Same thing happened to us. Got rid of most things and then surprise! Our newest son is 2 weeks old now :) We did keep our furniture though.

Thank you all for being so sweet! I am excited about #3, although we do like to refer to him as our little "suprise" ! I would like to find a dark crib, although if I have to paint one I will. I have seen a couple on Woodlandsonline, but people seem to be VERY proud of their stuff around here. :rolleyes1:
Thanks so much...and I am looking for a LONG list of other baby items, such as baby towels, socks, crib sheets in tans or blues, bouncer...Im sure you get the point...oh yea...and Avent bottles.
Thanks again!

Well my offer will stand as long as I have the crib. (I've not known anyone else to offer it to and don't plan to sell it) Just let me know, you can email me if you ever change your mind.
Do you have family around? Is there anyone you can expect to throw a baby shower for you? Not trying to be nosey, it just sounds as though you're a little worried about how you'll acquire all the necessities.
Who knows? Maybe we can pull together as TOTW members for a shower if you need it? Just a thought.

Better be careful! Giving a crib away is a surefire way to get pregnant again :D

LOL!!!!!! Ain't that the truth!!! :preggo: Better watch out - sounds like that's how Aggie ended up with her surprise :)

That is exactly how I ended up with my suprise! Do definitely be careful with that!
I do have family in the area, but I dont know about the shower. I moved here since my husband is from the Spring area, so my friendship circle is pretty small right now. I have found it pretty difficult to get to know people in this area.
We are putting our children in private catholic school, and so with the baby and school...I have stressed a LITTLE..haha.

Oh, oh!
Crazy me. I have a stroller. A friend is giving me a double stroller, so I really need to get this one out of my car. My graco snugride baby carrier just snaps right in, but I am planning on using that. If you happen to be getting a snugride bucket, or you just want the stroller, I'll be happy to let you have it for free. It's the green color that has been so popular last couple of years, and folds up with just a button press and twist of the wrist. Love it, but if I'm going to be using a stroller anywhere, I'm going to need a two seater.

Me too! I wonder why that is? (I actually thought it was just me, and maybe it is, lol) I will have been here a whole year in June and I 'talk' to people on here way more than any one I know in person. Wow, that's sad...:bag:
The only good friends I have here in real life are a couple I've been friends with for years and knew in San Antonio; my SO got them jobs here soon after we moved. Since they are busy with working so much I don't get to see them very often, either. Not belonging to a church or driving hinders my ability to 'get out there' and meet people, too. I'm getting so desperate I'm about to become one of those people that will start up a conversation with anybody and everybody in public places! :D

Seriously...striking up a conversation with other moms while you're at the park or pool is a GREAT way to make friends.

I think it's easier with kids in school. Hanging around at the school enough and signing up for different volunteer opportunities is a great way to meet people. But I've met a couple of moms at the grocery store - we seem to keep the same schedules! I met this one mom at Kid's Castle a long time ago, then kept running into her at the grocery store... we exchanged email addresses, but then she put me on her "forwards" list and I just dropped it. Then I meet this other mom through my kid's preschool and this year in Kindergarten we've gotten to be pretty close and it turns out she lives next door to the "forwards" mom lol.
TOTW lunches are also a *great* way to meet new people :D

I agree with Wilson. The few friends I have, I have met through sports, school, or a school event. I really would know no one if I didn't have my kids! Well, besides my new TOTW friends!

LOL, well if the 'lunches' were ever more like cocktail hour in the evenings then I could make it for once! ;)
I'll look forward to meeting some more moms when Rocko starts Kindergarten next year, I guess! Oh and I HATE being put on FWDs lists!

I have met most of my friends through my children as well. School, PTA, scouts, WMOMs, band, etc....
Don't worry, MMM, once your kids are in school, you will have plenty of opportunities to meet other moms.

Now that I am working, I like the idea of evening get togethers as well. Plus, hubbies and kids can come (if you want).
Anyone up for an evening meet up?

I'd be up for an evening meetup, but would prefer a Friday night thing.
