I won't continue buying from Amazon.com until this kind of stuff is no longer available through their website:

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I'm really conflicted. Somebody else told me that the "Gamecock" and some of the other literature is from a historical standpoint and not related to the Cock Fighting. But, the Dog Fighting videos are certainly available, and yes, that sort of activity is illegal. Amazon.com also carries books that describe how to make bombs and I'm sure that they carry books on other illegal activities. Maybe boycotting & writing to the advertisers in those magazines is the better way to go, but then how to get a list without buying the mag or book? Like I said, I'm really conflicted about the whole thing.

Ewww is an understatement. :(

And the ACLU defends NAMBLA! That is real sad.

I meant isn't cockfighting illegal?

Cockfighting is very popular in two cities....New York City and Vinton Louisiana. Only legal in one of them. Vinton which is the capital of cockfighting. When you make your next trip to the casinos. take exit #4, then go like your going to get back on I-10 the building on your right(don’t know if it made it though hurricane Rita) was the home of the most cockfights in the US. It is known that some famous people own land in and outside of the Vinton area to raise these Cocks. Cock fights are found up and down hwy 3063 and 109. They have some private arena's...most of the public ones have since closed over the past 10 years. One of the most popular arenas is owned by former boxer Roy Jones Jr. Now a lot of the parishes in Louisiana have banned cock fighting. Calcasieu Parish is one of the last. Louisiana will make it official on Aug. 15 2010 that it will be illegal to cock fight. As New Mexico banned it last year. This makes Louisiana the last state to keep it legal. I don’t know if it’s still on the net. But www.KPLCTV.com did a special on cock fighting 4 months ago.

BTW no I am not into cockfighting. Have I ever been....yes I have. Do I support this no I don’t. I grew up in this area. It was around me most of my life. I knew people who raised cocks for fighting. The idea of putting razors on beaks and feet of birds...very wrong.
