My daughter had to start band practice today. They practice every day this week, then end the week with a trip to Splashtown. Tomorrow evening is book pickup at the school.

I am NOT ready for summer to be over. :(

It's been a very long time since I had kids in school...but I think I can remember always being ready for school to start and summer to be over, LOL (super Mom here). Remember there were a bunch of moms in the neighborhood and we were good buddies and on that first day of school, they all met at my house, bringing their brown bag lunches and we sat in the backyard and drank bloody mary's and played cards.

I'm having mixed feelings, but yes, it's coming up quick! I'm ready for the school-imposed schedule & routine (which I'll start hating the first week ). I'm ready for the kid-free-time that I'll have. I'm ready to have them spend a little time apart from each other in hopes that the squabbling with lessen. But, I've really enjoyed this summer - we've gotten to do some really fun things together and I love the freedom and being able to just pack up and GO somewhere. They're fun little kids and they've got tons of questions and ideas and I love spending time with them.

My kids are a little older, so for me, it is more of a hassle than a relief to have them gone. We have completely enjoyed the relaxed schedule of the summer.

I am sooooo ready for school! I spend the majority of my day carting kids to various friends, outings, etc. I can't wait to see that bus! Anyone want to meet at Starbucks to celebrate?

That's a great idea! I'd love to!

Let's make it a plan. Which Starbucks works for you?

The one near me is in the grocery store and not real cozy (especially with the recent construction!) How about Indian Springs? Across from the HEB at Woodlands Pkwy/Kuykendahl is what I mean.

We just got back from the Junior High. You had to get your schedule, then stand in a looooooooong line to pick up your books. Then, the fun part, figuring out how to work the dang combination lock on their locker...lol

I still can't believe how physically mature some of these kids look. The girl standing behind us just needed a pole to dance around. She was dressed like a complete hoochie and her mom was with her. SHORT skirt, LOW shirt with her chest hanging out, along with the shirt being a half top with her belly hanging out. (My son was all eyes of course.) She was 12 going on 20. :(

Forget Starbucks, let's meet at Rico's for a margarita. (We can wait until noon though to look appropriate.) :)

HMMM that's not a bad idea!
