My sis-in-law's only sister was killed in a car accident in Denver this past weekend. Her husband just got a job in Utah and she and a friend were moving the remainder of their things there on Saturday. She has 3 little boys, all under age 4. The boys are fine. They were in the hospital overnight for observation and to give the family time to get there. I talked to the friend, who is 8 mos. pregnant after it happened while she was in the ER, and I'm getting ready to check on her again. What do you say to someone who has just been through that? She was the one driving, but has no memory of what happened, thank goodness.

That is awful! I am so sorry. I don't know what you could say, but just be there for her and ready to listen and support her grief. {{{{hugs}}}}

What a tragedy, I am so sorry. I agree with Wilson and just offer a soft shoulder to cry on. When friends of mine went through a terrible loss, I would make sure they had things they needed but didn't want to take the time to get. For instance, there is usually family around during these times, so we would bring over a bunch of paper plates, cups, etc so they didn't need to do dishes. We also got together and cooked meals for the family and froze them so they could take them out when needed for the kids. Typically a lot of people don't reach out and ask for help, so just regularly making phone calls or sending emails will help people know you are there for them.
I hope you are doing Ok, this must be very hard on you as well. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Take care.

I am so sorry. Honestly, I think the best thing to do is just be there.

So sorry for your loss. Loosing a family member is so hard. I lost my brother when he was 34. I'm very close to his oldest my nephew now.
This is an old clique, but time will make it better. Being there to help, will help you.
God Bless.
