Anyone have any experiences, information (good, bad, whatever) to share about him. A friend ask me for information. Thanks!

DH sees him. Says he's personable and thorough. You have to wait awhile to see him, but once you get in, he doesn't rush.
I've seen Dr. Cos' NP, Lois. She's also very thorough.
My biggest beef is the office staff. They've never been friendly to me (on the phone or in person). I feel as if I'm inconveniencing them when I need to schedule a follow up, pay my co-pay, etc. Also, if you want to see Dr. Cos, you have to say "I need to schedule an appointment with Dr. Cos, not the NP." Otherwise, you'll end up with Lois.

It might not be a bad idea to mention this to Dr. Cos. He might not be aware of how his staff is treating his patients. I had a really bad experience with the office manager at my obstetrician's office a few years ago and told the doctor that the reason I was going to go to a different office was 100% because of that woman.

We use Dr. Paschalis, who is in with Dr. Cos. I have beefs all the time with the staff. Last time we saw Dr. P, I said "We need to talk." And I then told him how DH and I felt about the "hired help". He apologized and looked as though he was unaware. Lately I've noticed some changes for the better. So we'll see. They both appear to have very good reputations.

Definitely seems like "staff problem"; have also heard that outside TOTW.
Doctors work everyday very closely in "tight quarters" with the staff so I would think if there are this many complaints, they would know it.
In any work environment the general overall attitude/level of concern/customer service usually flows from the bosses down.

Well, I posted about a month ago that I was looking for a new doc because I have such a hard time getting in to see mine. Guess who? I do like Dr. Cos, but it takes forever to get in to see him, even if you are sick. I like Lois just fine, but have recently been shunted to a new NP. I'm not excited about having so many different people manage my health care, even as uncomplicated as it is.
I do have a spider bite that swells up and gets infected every so often. Last time it happened, I saw Lois and she freaked out and went a little overboard. I wound up having to see a surgeon to get it lanced and drained because she wouldn't do it. The surgeon didn't think that it was necessary that he do it and I got sent back and forth a few times before I threw a tantrum that somebody needed to do something so that I could be cleared to get back into the NICU to see Little Bit.
I've also had problems with the front office staff. And if your friend does choose to see a doctor there, tell them to make sure they bring the little appointment card that the receptionist fills out and gives you when you schedule. I have had them tell me (and seen it happen to others) that I didn't have an appointment, and I have had to give them the little card to prove to them that somebody had scheduled me at that time.

Wow! Telling you you have no appointment until card produced is inexcusable!!
GOOD FOR YOU for demanding action on your case. It is Your health, Your money, YOU are the boss.

Precisely. When I had my talk with Dr. P, I started it with, "Do you consider that we are your clients?" To which he answered "Of course". Which led me to, "well you need to explain this to your staff in no uncertain terms. That this client in particular does not just call, willy-nilly every time my nose runs trying to get an appointment. I have much better things to do with my time and only see a dr when I feel the situation is dire...and I do not appreciate being told, the dr is in but he's too busy to see you. I much prefer to be told, you come in at such and such a time and although he is booked, we will work you in...or something like that.
Last time this happened my dh happened to be in severe pain and I was afraid it was very serious like heart attack and they would not see him. We ended up going to ER and it was a severe case of gout in his back, of all places.

CG... Excellent expression of your feelings to your Dr. If more of us would do this, refuse to be intimidated, our very high priced medical care would greatly improve. At least we would "feel alot better" about the situation.
When we are ill we are vulnerable...and it really upsets me if medical staff tries to take advantage of our situation by "playing games"!

Or by acting like they know more than I do. Whenever I get the chance, I assure them I am just as educated on the workings of my body as they are, LOL.
