View Full Version : Good salons or stylists in TW

I use to go to ULTA to get my hair done but their stylists rotate out all the time so it is hard to keep a good one, plus I dont feel like paying a
$200+ ticket when I go.
Bella Rinova is a great place for a spa treatment but again a little out of my comfort level for the price.
Does anyone know a good stylist, that can do highlights, and cuts well with out the hefty price tag in The Woodlands or even Spring area?

Ohhh good question. I need a serious hair-do and heard the owner of LaVantage or whatever it's called in Alden Bridge is FANTASTIC (probably pricey) and I can't remember his name or I'd have booked the appt already. Anyone know or have another recommendation? I need color and a new style...maybe straightening. I want something hip! And shorter...

I've been using the Aveda Institute for about 2 years now. Haven't had a bad cut there. The only problem I have is with the appointment setters, they have messed up our appointments but the floor supervisors always get us taken care of.
I guess it's really bad when the guys (yes guys) checking you in know you by name...

I go to Dionysus. I really like the stylist I go to, and wouldn't change. However, it is quite expensive. About $80, I think. So I'll be going about 3-4 times a year, and doing my own trims at home, but that works for me. i can trim my own hair and cut my bangs

Ask for Marci Henderson at DeWaynes. 281-252-9270. Make sure you request her & get her though - as with any salon, there are some that I would trust to trim & color my pup!! Marci is a little bitty lady with short kinda curly brown hair. I wouldnt go anywhere else! :D
The salon is technically in Magnolia - 2978 & 1488. I know it is cheaper than some of them in The Woodlands, but it isnt too cheap.

439 Sawdust.
My daughter always goes there and prices are generally acceptable, but not cheap. Only place she will go. She has tried several places here in TW. Price? You get what you pay for. Both ladies have worked at some of the larger day spas in that area and are now in their own business. Appointments only.

Thanks for that - it's a lot closer for me than going all the way down to Rayford. I'll give her a try soon.

Wilson, you wont be dissappointed! I get more compliments on my hair, and have NEVER seen anything bad that she has done. She has done my hair for YEARS..haha...in a different location. And I love the location. Greenbridge to 242 to 1488 takes me about 10 minutes to get there. Plus I make a point to stop by the Target when I am out there! You can give her my screen name and I guarantee that she will know who it is!

I like On Stage Hair Salon. It's in Magnolia too at 1488 and 2978 in the strip center next to the McDonalds. It's got a cool vibe, not really what you'd expect from a strip center in Magnolia.

I think I checked out onstage. Doesn't the pricing there depend on the training level of the stylist? I like that. Dionysus is that way, too, I think.

I have several friends that were not impressed with Onstage. It has that "chain" feel. I like places that are a little more personable. Dewaynes feels more personable, but has an upscale feel to it also.

I don't think it feels like a chain at all. Do you mean like Supercuts or something? It has a really hip, cool vibe, not for everyone but I really like it. Monica gave my daughter a super cute haircut!

Diana at Visible Changes has been cutting my hair for 5 years now. She was in Humble but moved to the Woodlands salon. She isn't cheap - around $50 but I have never had a bad hair experience from her.
For color; I either do my own (no highlights) or my GF has her license and she does them for me at my house! LOL!

Has anyone else used Marci Henderson at De Waynes Salon? Does she do the cut, high light, and style your hair?

Are you still happy with Marci Henderson at De Waynes Salon. Does she cut, highlight and style your hair? Is she good at styling your hair? I have short, fine hair, and need someone good, as I have out of town company coming soon, and my hair is a diaster.

She does everything. And I wouldnt let anyone else touch my hair - I have thin and fine hair and most people dont know it! I really think if you have fine thin hair you should DEFINTELY give her a try!
I am looking for someone that knows how to handle/cut curly hair, on a 2 1/2 year old.
I have been very hesitant in letting anyone cut my daughters hair. The longer it gets the bigger the curls get but she needs it trimmed up and shaped. Now don't get me wrong her hair is beautiful but when you are dealing with curly hair you need to know what you are doing!
Any suggestions?

Marci at Dewaines has curly hair - I would trust her to cut your daughters!
Thank you for the suggestion

Just saw this post...
Naz at Got Style Salon on 242 near McAllisters is awesome. I too have very fine hair and I love the way she cuts it. And she always sits me down first too find out how I want my hair..asks me tons of questions and then gets to work. I pay $35 dollars but I've been with her for a year. She does great color too.
Go see Naz the 5'11" blond from Europe in high heels. She's a trip!

Miriam at Visible Changes in the mall is absolutely the best colorist I've ever used. Pricey, though, at $120.
Lotta (sp?) at Visible Changes does a phenomenal job cutting hair. She's a master cutter, so her prices are up there, too.

I pay 130 for color and cut and have curly hair. But my Stylist is in Spring, not TW. I've been using her for over 5 years. Wouldn't trust anyone else

I went to Marci at DeWaines. I was very happy with her. Great highlights and a good haircut. I will be going back to her shortly and my daughter plans to visit her also. Also, a very, very nice lady.
