I have been getting my hair highlighted for years. I am sick of it and really don't have the $$ to keep doing it b/c of school and gas prices. My lady I have gone to for years is no longer available!
Since this will be pretty drastic, I really want to see a good professional. Anyone have a colorist they recommend?

I go to a girl at Brian Of London, I think her name is Amy. It isn't cheap though. I may have to find a new person for that reason.

I like Monica at On Stage Hair Design in Magnolia. It is more reasonably priced than Brian of London and they don't charge for a blow dry.

Thanks! I don't mind paying for this since afterwards it will be much cheaper for me to keep up.

I go to a lady who formerly taught at Aveda. Her prices are very reasonable. Here is her website and you can book appts. online. A cut is $28 where I used to pay $55. www.lapetitechezshaynobelle.com. DARLENE. Tell her Kitty sent you! I am getting low lights now to ease out of the coloring merry-go-round. Then will stop. For the most part.

ChezShayNobelle!!!!! That is who I loved going to, but they moved and my stylist didn't move with them.
I second Darlene though. She is GREAT. I just really liked Nikki. Thanks for the link Kitty.

Where are they located 1973? I guess Darlene is the only stylist now?

She is in Villa (Village?) Salons in the center on the northbound feeder where Chair King is-next door to CK. She just rents a room there. Also on her website you can book a massage from the very nice blind masseur, Richard. One of the other girls from the old shop is in Villa Salons. I can't remember her name though.

I had mine colored last summer at Urban Retreat. It was beautiful-so close to my natural auburn, with a little kick! It was really expensive, so I'm an at-home girl now for up-keep, but I'd go back to have my hair colored there in a heartbeat. If I remember correctly, for cut, color, highlight, and a little make-up touch up, it was close to $300

Hi all,
I recently started seeing Fran at L'Advantage Salon & Day Spa (Sterling Ridge) @ 6700 Woodlands Pkwy. It is in the Kroger / Perry's Restaurant center.
The highlights / lowlights I was receiving at another local salon were becoming too high maintenance.... and Fran successfully introduced enough low lights to get me back into the lower maintenance category. It was still about $135, but I can tell I won't need to see her as often. I stopped by the salon one day & asked for a consultation. When I made the appt & actually saw her a couple of weeks later, I was quite impressed that she had made notes about our conversation & remembered what I wanted to do.
Good luck! I find that locating a new hair stylist is stressful !

Monica did highlights for me this afternoon and it looks great! I think it was $83...
