Since we're sorta on the subject... what's your exercise routine? Where do you go to work out? What kind of equipment do you use?
I walk the pathways around my neighborhood and at a friend's house. Sometimes with the dogs, sometimes with the kids, sometimes just with a friend. I could use more, though - I have a weight system (http://www.bodysolid.com/Item.aspx?ItemID=88&ItemLabel=EXM1500S%3a+Body-Solid+EXM1500S+Home+Gym)upstairs that's never been used and an old treadmill that has only been used for laundry :p. Oh, and the Ab Lounge folded up nicely under the bed and never came out again. Prod me to get busy with what I've got! :bag:

Let's see. During school months, I drop the boys off and as soon as I get home I go for a 2-3 mile run. Until my knees started going, then I started riding my bike to the YMCA and using the weights. Now I try to run 2 times a week and ride my bike 2 times and lift 2-3 times. I make myself do it, but there are days I just can't motivate. I do feel better than I have in years though.

I work out at 24 Hour Fitness. I do full body weights 3 times a week and 20-30 mintes lighter cardio on those days. 2-3 days I will run 4 miles or do a spin class.

Well, if you think about getting rid of your laundry hanger, let me know! I have been looking for someone that wants theirs out!

I walk/jog with my dogs for about 30 min. Mon-Fri, I swim laps and exercise in the pool 2-3 times a week, and I do Namaste yoga on Fit TV every other day. If I'd stop eating crappy food, I'd probably be in great shape!

No. I am afraid my maternal instinct has yet to make an appearance.

I am firm believer, though, that mom needs an hour to herself every day, even if it is not to work out!

I didn't believe that with my first, and now I think we both suffered for it!

I would love for that to happen...but I work outside of the home 40 plus hrs a week, and if I take an hour for myself, my children would get nothing. As a parent you have a make sacrifices. During the week, if it isnt an activity I do with my kiddos, it doesnt happen!

Aggie02 I can relate. I am a stay at home mom, but my dh is gone alot and always wants to do the family stuff. We all do what we have to and sometimes that means giving up on some things.

Yes - I can't say that I'd feel like I do if I WOHM. It's just so very incredibly hard to find a good balance that is in everyone's best interests.

That is one of the things that scares me about having kids. I will always have to work, and I feel like I am always busy and exhausted now. I think working moms are superwomen!
I am glad to see parents out there who still feel that way. I felt very lucky that even though my mom always worked, she always made time for me. I met another family quite different and it made me really see how important that was!

Well my kids get a big 'ol kick outta seeing Mom work out to the television work-outs and they join in. Sometimes I gotta yell at them to get outta my way before I kick-box one in the face accidentally, though! :D
I also do 'kid gym routines'. I had actually considered making money off of that....
I lead the kids in exercises that I remember doing in elementary gym class; safe for them but beneficial. How cool would that be if there were moms out there that not only baby-sat...but led a workout session with kids?

Alas, exercise is my weakest link. Since I am a cardiac patient/survivor person, it is supposed to be the most important thing I do every day but many days are missed when life/work just get in the darn way.
I have just recently gotten back to water aerobics 3 hours a week (WA) and I must say, it is a good workout and I'm enjoying it - in particular because it's great in this hot weather. I woke up at 3 am today and was planning my day before I started reading posts - and I thought - ok today is the day I get back into my strength training. Recall that I quit all exercise a year ago last June or July when I started having severe problems with my back/pinched nerve thingys...well it is better now and I have been told I need to make it stronger and especially strenghten my core muscles. So today is the day I start over with my exercise ball and weights AND I'm going to take a short walk. I am limited as to how far I can walk because the pinched nerves cause my feet to go numb - when that happens I am supposed to stop at least for awhile. I can no longer jog or ride a bike. But I need to do these other things mentioned to try to get back into feeling strong again instead of like a flabby bowl of jello.

I used to go to the "body pump" class at the YMCA (when I was a member) and it was awesome. You can go at your own pace, it's low impact and you slowly build muscle and tone your body.
One thing I would love to do (because I'm a weirdo) is to join a dance class. Where you learn mambo, salsa, tango, flamenco etc. I think it would be so much fun, but I don't see DH doing that and you need a partner. Plus, I would feel weird about dancing with someone else.
So, one day when we make it rich with Eden Cafe and my hubby turns to me and says, "thanks for being there for me and for helping me make my dreams come true" ....I will say to him "You owe me a dance class" ;)
Lord, I can at least dream, right?

Well I did do a walk that day but did not get around to the weights or the ball. I will do them today and maybe go to the pool.
Dancing is great exercise. I took lessons from age 5 til I was about 20 and those were my firm fit years. Course once I quit, I turned to flab. Ballroom dancing is very strenuous as well.
I hired a trainer in 2006 and learned many routines to do on ball and all - I have them written down I think somewhere. I'll have to try to dig them out because I do want to start doing them again.

Please post them if you find the routines... I'm interested as well!
