I don't know why this surprises me, but it does. I guess because I hadn't heard of him having problems before. Now, if Lindsay or Brittany did, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Yeah, I read this on Perez a few days ago. It's very sad.

He's an actor. If you saw "Night at the Museum" he played the western guy who was always at odds with the Roman.

The voice of "Lightning McQueen"!
He was in Wedding Crashers, Meet the Parents & Meet the Fockers, The Royal Tennenbaums, Zoolander, etc. He does a lot of work with Ben Stiller & Vince Vaughn. His brother, Luke, is popular too...

He was in a move called THE BIG BOUNCE. It was filmed in Hawaii and a few scenes were filmed at my FIL's home. He said that he was the nicest guy and was fun to hang out with for the day.
BTW they got 10k for the use of their home for the day plus they built a stone wall that the actors hid behind in one of the scenes. It was a really bad movie but it was fun to watch for the house.

I love Owen Wilson. He reminds me so much of my brother-in-law. Anyone see Dupree & Me?

You, Me & Dupree - it was great! I think my favorite was Wedding Crashers, though.

SM what a neat experience with the movie thing! No wonder I don't know who he is. I have not been to a move theater to see a real honest-to-goodness movie since ohhhhhhhhhh maybe the mid to late 1990's.

Dh just made a good point. How is this not a HIPPA violation to announce that Owen Wilson attempted suicide over the media? Dh said they don't put the name out over the scanner. Although he did say they put the address out, so perhaps the media picked it up. I don't think the 911 calls are automatically released. Either way, it sucks that they put this crap out for everyone.

I understand that the media (Extra, and probably tipped off by somebody to go actively searching) was able to obtain the official police logs, which listed "attempted suicide" and his address.
