I meant to say she WAS named as suspect, but NOT charged yet.

I sure hope she had nothing to do with this. :(

I soooo did not see this coming :(.

I see that CNN is reporting that Madeleine's blood was found in a car her parents rented AFTER they reported her missing. That poor child.

I didn't see it coming either. I was at the bank earlier and saw the blurb on the news about the mother being offered a plea bargain to admit she killed Madeline.

If she did kill her, I would like to think it was an accident and she freaked out. Although I CANNOT IMAGINE lying and saying that someone kidnapped her if it was truly an accident. If she is guilty, I hope they make them responsible for every penny that was spent looking for her. (Not to mention the time spent looking for her when they could have been looking for a kid that was actually missing.)

I wonder why they are thinking it is the mom and not the dad? They must have a reason for that.

I read that they suspect that she may have accidentally killed her, kept the body then decided to get rid of it. As a mother myself, I so hope this is not true. Stuff like this is why more often than not I don't watch the news. I go to the internet for weather or only read what I want. Any harm happening to innocent children makes me ill.

I always thought the parents knew more than what they were admitting. I mean do you or have you EVER left a 4 year old and 2 year old twins ALONE while you went to dinner across the street (even to a neighbor's)? I have a hard time leaving my 13 year old and 9 year old alone and WOULD never leave my 9 y/o alone (afraid the house would burn down) by himself, even just to talk to the neighbors next door. But that is my personal beliefs and that is totally based on my own children. I know that some are more responsible than others. But 2 year olds are not responsible even when they are asleep.

But the 25 days later rental car with blood has me wondering now... do month-old dead bodies bleed? Obviously I don't know much about postmortem body behavior!

No, a post-mortem body does not bleed like that. The blood starts to coagulate and the gases in the body cause the body to swell, etc....The parents must have had something with her blood on it that was then later placed in the car.

Oh, okay. Thanks for explaining.

If they are innocent.... I cannot stop thinking about how terrifying and frustrating this must be for them. They don't want to leave without their daughter and now the police in the country in which she disappeared has turned on them and they might be arrested. How many more nightmares will this turn into?

And, if they are innocent, the search has stopped for their daughter. :(
