Scout Day at the Astros

I am SO tired. It was scout day at the Astros game today. We had to be there by 11:00 to go out on the field. We met the other scouts to caravan down there at 9:15 and just now walked in the door. (6:15) We stopped to get dinner on the way, but other than that we were at the game all day. About $200 later, it was a very nice day for the family. And, a great game for the Astros!

I'm uploading the pictures now. They handed out commerative Astros Hot Wheel type cars that my oldest son had one of the players sign for him. He was VERY excited about that. The Pirates were throwing balls to the kids while we were walking by their dug out. They were so great with the kids.

A family in our den went last year and had a blast. I meant to go today, but I just can't beat this cough. It's totally wearing me down. I'm glad to hear it was a lot of fun - we'll definitely have to catch it next year. My kids have been wanting to go see the Astros play again for a long time now.

One of the Pirates players was handing out balls to the boys (all were scouts that were allowed on the field), but then two players stepped out of the dugout and my husband waved to them and said hello. They both looked at him, gave him a "whatever" look and totally ignored my husband. My husband and son couldn't believe how they acted. (The other players were friendly, but those two players were completely rude. And, we were only a few feet from them and not in a crowd.)

Well poo on them! Maybe they were thinking about something else? Still, it's not cool!

The Astros went on to beat the snot out of them, so we were happy!
