A Popular Woodlands Running Tradition Returns October 10
THE WOODLANDS, TX — Runners, families and spectators will take over the area around Northshore Park on Saturday, October 10, as the Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas returns to The Woodlands.
The annual race event brings together athletes of several ages and experience levels for a morning of running through the community, followed by a Texas-sized celebration at the finish line.
The event includes three races:
- Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas — a certified 10-mile course
- 3.1 Armadillo Run — a 5K race
- One 4 Texas Kids' Fun Run — designed to give younger runners a chance to join the action
Race Day Begins at Northshore Park
Activities begin at 7 a.m. at Northshore Park, located at 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive.
The 10-mile race is a USA Track & Field sanctioned event, and participants will travel along a course through The Woodlands before returning to the park for the finish.
Following the races, participants and spectators can enjoy a post-race party featuring live music and other activities.
Registration Is Filling Up
The Woodlands Township has advised residents that registration for the 2026 event is filling quickly. Participation is capped, and there will be no race-day registration, so anyone planning to compete should register in advance.
Packet pickup will be available at The Woodlands Township Town Hall on Thursday, October 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, October 9, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Expect Race-Day Traffic
Residents traveling near the race route Saturday morning should allow additional time. Traffic control officers will be stationed along the course, and some motorists may experience temporary delays while runners are passing.
The event has become a fall tradition in The Woodlands, combining competition with the community atmosphere that surrounds many of the Township's major outdoor events.
